Emory Eagles Shake with Fear- Flee Athens

May 2, 2009

Fearing a shellacking so severe it would send their baseball careers into early retirement, Emory passed on making the trek to Athens, forfeiting the final 3 games of the South Atlantic Conference’s regular season. Georgia finishes the regular season 17-7 with a 10-2 conference record. Georgia enters the College World Series Regionals as the 3 seed. They will match up with the University of Florida in the first round. The game is scheduled for 7 pm on Friday the 8th. The 1 v 4 matchup will see Appalachain State hosting Clemson, who enters as the wild card following their crushing defeat to Georgia 2 weeks ago. The Regional tournament will take place in Columbus, Ga and span Friday May 8th- Sunday May 10th.
